Pune: Pune district administration declared revelation of 140,000 Kunbi Maratha entries after scrutiny of 2.40 lakh old records amid increasing demands of Maratha reservations.

Verification committee headed by the Pune district collector Dr Rajesh Deshmukh,had taken efforts to scrutinise documents in talukas  in the district. District administration told that they scrutinised death, birth certificates, school certificates, 7/12 extract, 8 A land document, gift deeds, land sale and purchase deeds, Gram Panchayat land records, Jail entries and Police records.

The verification process stands as a critical step in addressing the demands related to Maratha community reservation and ensuring accurate documentation of Kunbi Maratha records in the region.
