Pune division has the most number of ‘accident-free’ drivers of MSRTC buses

Pune: The Pune division of the State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) tops in the list of drivers who have completed 25 years of service and have not been involved in any accident. 

According to data shared by the MSRTC, Pune division has the highest, which is 197 ‘accident-free’ drivers followed by Amravati division with186 drivers, Aurangabad with 151 drivers and Nashik division with 89.

On the eve of the Republic day, MSRTC has declared a list of 870 bus drivers who have completed 25 years of their service and have zero record of accidents. MSRTC decided to facilitate these drivers with their families  at respective divisional offices and these will be given a reward of Rs 25,000  with a certificate.

Pune divisional controller of MSRTC, Ramakant Gaikwad said, “A total of 197 drivers from our division have a record of accident-free driving. We always promote all our drivers and conductors for accident-free service. For this purpose, we have initiated many seminars and sessions, of the experts.’’

MSRTC, to encourage better driving practices, has decided to facilitate bus drivers with cash rewards. According to MSRTC officials, they take care of bus maintenance and train the drivers to avoid accidents. However such facilitation and rewards encourage them to perform better.
