Pune Divisional Railway User Advisory Committee Meeting held for discussing facilities for travellers

Pune: A meeting of the Divisional Railway Users Advisory Committee of Pune Division was held on Friday at the Divisional Railway Manager’s office. Indu Dubey, Divisional Railway Manager presided over this meeting. Dr Milind Hirve, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager moderated the meeting.

As per information from Pune Railway Division, the members who came to the meeting gave suggestions regarding the facilities and problems of the passengers and discussed them. Divisional Railway Managers assured to find a proper solution to these issues.

Addressing the meeting, Dubey gave detailed information about various development works, passenger facilities, infrastructure works, and activities in Pune Division. She said that proper steps are being taken for safe and timely running of trains, proper maintenance of tracks, strengthening of signal systems etc. 

Pune Railway Administration is committed to provide the best service to the passengers. The need for members to make meaningful efforts and cooperate for the development of railways, expansion of passenger facilities and increase in revenue was highlighted in the meeting as well.

The members present in the meeting raised various issues such as starting intercity express between Pune-Kolhapur, re-starting of Mumbai-Kolhapur Sahyadri Express, availability of trains for Miraj to Kolhapur for daily commuters especially in the morning, Pune–Mumbai-Pune Pragati Express stoppage at Chinchwad, increase number of locals between Pune-Lonavala and availability of afternoon local, extension of Pune-Ahmedabad, Pune-Bhuj, Pune-Bikaner, Daund-Indore and Darshan Express etc. upto Miraj & Kolhapur, Starting of new trains from Kolhapur to Kalburgi and Miraj to Belgavi, Pandharpur, Satara etc, Kolhapur – Hazrat Nizamuddin to run daily, Stoppage of Hazrat Nizamuddin – Goa, Kolhapur – Ahmedabad, Kolhapur – Mumbai, Dadar – Mysore Sharawati, Dadar – Puducherry Express etc. at Lonand, Stoppage of Yeshwantpur Sampark Kranti, Humsafar Express at Satara, Development of Lonand station, installation of sufficient number of signages at Pune station, facility of lift and escalator, CCTV, security, solution to parking issue, developing passenger facilities, encroachment free railway premises etc.

Sarvashree Nikhil Kachi, Suresh Mane, Gopal Tiwari, Bashir Sutar, Devdutt Nikam, Lalchand Oswal, Appasaheb Shinde, Ajit Chowgule, Kishore Bhorawat, Dilip Batwal, Shivnath Biyani and other members were present in the meeting.

Dubey assured to take appropriate steps on this. Many branch officers were present on the occasion. Dr Ramdas Bhise, Divisional Commercial Manager expressed a vote of thanks.
