Pune Doctors Join Nationwide IMA Strike, Protest Outside Sassoon Hospital
Doctors in Pune have joined the nationwide strike called by the Indian Medical Association (IMA) to protest the rape and murder of a female doctor in Kolkata.
The 24-hour strike, supported by resident doctors and private practitioners, aims to highlight concerns over the safety of medical professionals.
Protests have already begun outside Sassoon Hospital, with many private doctors in the city closing their clinics and outpatient departments (OPDs) for the day. While emergency services will continue, the strike is expected to severely disrupt other medical services across Pune.
