Pune, October 17, 2025: Daily commuters and residents along the main Kondhwa Road — from Lulla Nagar to Jyoti Restaurant Chowk — are facing severe inconvenience due to rampant encroachments. Street vendors selling fruits, vegetables, and clothes have occupied major portions of the road, leading to heavy traffic congestion and obstructing pedestrian movement.

Adding to the chaos, a PMPML bus stop in the area has also been taken over by vendors, forcing commuters to wait dangerously close to moving vehicles. Despite repeated complaints from residents, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has failed to initiate any concrete action, leading to growing frustration among locals.

Residents claim that the encroachments not only disrupt smooth traffic flow but also pose safety risks, especially during peak hours. They have urged PMC officials to carry out an immediate clearance drive and ensure the road remains accessible for both vehicles and pedestrians.

Locals have stressed that regular monitoring and strict enforcement are essential to prevent vendors from returning, as the issue has persisted for months despite several assurances.

The community hopes PMC will act swiftly to restore order and ensure safe, congestion-free movement on the busy Kondhwa stretch.
