Pune: A wall boundary on a hilly area near Dorabjee Paradise society off NIBM road was removed by the forest department and Anandvan Foundation on December 13 (Wednesday).

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Bhupesh Sharma of the Anandvan Foundation said, “The wall boundary on the hilly area near Dorabjee’s is under the Pune Forest Department. The hilly area is prone to landslides. During the rainy season, due to landslides, boulders, gravel and soil, which were present at the bottom of the wall boundary were removed. Bhupesh Sharma further added that the Anandvan Foundation pursued this actively with the Forest Department and held a meeting on December 12 (Tuesday) at around noon about removing the wall boundary. The Forest Department took immediate cognizance of the matter and at 7:30 am on Wednesday, initiated and removed the wall boundary along with volunteers from the Anandvan Foundation.

Praveen N R, Chief Conservator of Forests, Pune said, “The hilly area was prone to landslides. The wall boundary was exposed from below. It was prone to accident and could have been dangerous to human life. Thus, with the help of Anandvan Foundation volunteers and our department’s officials, the wall boundary was removed on Wednesday morning to prevent any danger to human life.”
