The state government has finally approved the implementation of the ‘Unified Development Control and Promotion Regulations’ (UDCPR) in 23 villages under the Pune Municipal Corporation. Therefore, the land owners of these villages will get a big benefit.

On 30 June 2011, the state government took a decision to include 23 villages in the municipal limits. But within a few days, an order came from the state government to appoint the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) as the special planning authority for villages. Therefore, within the limits of Pune Municipal Corporation, however, all the powers have been with ‘PMRDA’.

A senior member of a Civil Rights Organization said that for the last several years, the state government had been demanding that the ‘UDCPR’ rules should be applied to the 23 villages included in the Municipal Corporation. Finally, it was accepted by the state government. Therefore, the citizens of these villages will also be able to take advantage of this regulation now.

Mahalunge, Sus, Bavdhan Budruk, Kirkatwadi, Pisoli, Kondve Dhawade, Kopare, Nanded, Khadakwasla, Manjri Budruk, Narhe, Holkarwadi, Tade Handewadi, Wadachiwadi, Shewalewadi, Nandoshi, Sanasnagar, Mangdewadi, Bhilarewadi, Gujar Nimbalkarwadi, Jambhulwadi, Kolewadi and Wagholi. These villages will benefit.

The development plan has been completed by PMRDA through all the processes. It has not received final approval from the state government. Therefore, many organizations including civil rights organization, Marathi Construction Professionals Association demanded that ‘CPR regulation’ should be implemented. Finally, it succeeded. In these 23 villages ‘DPR’ regulations were implemented. The order in this regard has been issued by the Joint Secretary of Urban Development Department Dr Pratibha Bhadane on March 15.
