Lok Sabha election 2024 : 32 thousand banners removed in Pune district

The Election Commission of India has announced the election program for Maval, Pune, Baramati and Shirur Lok Sabha constituencies in the district. With the implementation of the model code of conduct, a total of 32 thousand 550 advertisements were put through the local bodies in the district, including 11 thousand 83 in government premises, 19 thousand 652 in public property and 1 thousand 815 in private premises. The district administration has informed that boards, wall writings, posters, boards, banners and flags have been removed.

Pune District Collector Dr Suhas Diwase has ordered strict adherence to the model code of conduct in the wake of the general Lok Sabha elections in the district. Accordingly, in Maval Lok Sabha Constituency, 961 in government premises, 2 thousand 552 in public property premises, 207 in private property premises, in 34 Pune Lok Sabha constituency 785 in government premises, 1 thousand 431 in public property premises, 257 from private property; in Baramati Lok Sabha constituency, 4 thousand 488 from government land, 5 thousand 281 from public property, 232 from private property and in Shirur Lok Sabha constituency, 4 thousand 849 from government land, 10 thousand 388 from public property, 1 thousand 119 from private property. Hence, a total of 32 thousand 550 advertisement boards, wall writings, posters, boards, banners and flags have been removed.

In order to conduct the Lok Sabha elections transparently, measures are being taken by the district administration to strictly follow the model code of conduct. Resident Deputy Collector Jyoti Kadam informed that the process of removing all advertisement boards, wall writings, posters, boards, banners and flags in the district is underway and this process will be completed soon.
