Pune : Hyundai Car Plunges Into Khadakwasla Dam : Search Operation Underway
PUNE: A distressing incident unfolded near Kuran Phata along the Pune-Panshet Road, as a vehicle lost control and careened into the waters of Khadakwasla Dam. The aftermath of the accident saw the heroic efforts of local residents, who managed to rescue several individuals from the submerged vehicle. Tragically, a young girl is reported to remain trapped within the sunken car.
Prompt response was witnessed as both local residents and the Velhe police swiftly arrived at the scene. Additionally, personnel from the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority’s fire brigade are en route to provide assistance. The incident occurred around 7 pm when an i20 car unexpectedly veered into the Khadakwasla Dam’s waters near Kuran Phata on the Pune-Panshet road.
Eyewitness accounts indicate that heavy traffic was present in the vicinity, and vigilant locals played a pivotal role in responding to the unfolding crisis. The sight of the submerged car spurred these residents into action, resulting in the successful rescue of three to four individuals from the perilous waters.
Regrettably, amidst the successful rescues, one young girl remains entrapped within the confines of the vehicle. The Velhe police acted swiftly upon receiving reports of the incident, dispatching officers to the scene without delay. The ongoing rescue operation continues to harness the collaborative efforts of local residents and officials, who are working tirelessly to bring the situation to a safe resolution.
