The Income Tax Department has recently released the contact information of the concerned authorities that the citizens can reach out to for any information regarding misuse of funds during 2024 Elections.

As Lok Sabha General Elections 2024 commence all over the country, the Income Tax Department has set up a control room in Pune to keep funds being circulated under check and prevent their misuse through bribing in the general elections. The control room will be operational 24×7 (all days of the week) as per the instructions by the Income Tax Department. 

Citizens can lodge their complaints or any information regarding the misuse of money and power. The Press Information Bureau (PIB) has provided the contact numbers and email addresses of the concerned authorities who can handle issues, complaints or information regarding money or power misuse during the Lok Sabha General Elections 2024 in the following districts: Palghar; Thane; Raigad; Ratnagiri; Pune; Ahmednagar; Solapur; Satara; Sangli; Sindhudurg; Kolhapur.

The department urged the public to inform the control room via toll-free numbers, WhatsApp/text numbers and emails about movement of cash or other valuables so that the tax authorities can take prompt action against the misuse of the cash to influence the voters. This will help in tracking and preventing black money from being used in the upcoming Lok Sabha General Elections.
