Pune : Indo Athletics Society Staged Unique Cycle Rally Protest Against Jogger’s Death

On 20th August, Indo Athletics Society carried out a bicycle rally protest to send a social message about walking/driving by being alert on the streets & also to bring justice to the death of a jogger, Harshad Pingale, living in Sky Manas Lake Society, Bhugaon.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Ajit Patil, Director, Indo Athletics Society, said “We organized this protest as a jogger, Harshad Pingale, had died on 16th August (Wednesday). These types of incidents are happening all over the city right now. We need to stop these trends. We need to punish the vehicle driver as the jogger was hit by a vehicle. We need to get justice for the victims’ families.”

As per information shared by Patil, around 200 to 300 people from all over Pune had participated in this protest to pay tribute to Harshad Pingale & to spread awareness regarding walking/driving/cycling etc safety.

Ganesh Bhujbal, Ajit Patil, Giriraj Umrikar, Ajit Gore, Amit Pawar, Madan Shinde, Vijay Gaikwad, Santosh Nakhate, Pradeep Take, Haripriya, Deepak Burkul, Shrikant Chaudhary, Abhay Khatavkar, Shailesh Patil, Sandeep Pardeshi, Ramesh Pawar, Vivek Kadu , Anjali Khatavkar, Keshav, Nilesh Takle, Smita Gabade, Sandeep Gaikwad and Sky Manas Lake Society members led the cycle march from Pune University to Paud Police Station. Harshad Pingale’s family members were also present on this occasion.
