Pune: Kondhwa Police Acts Swiftly Against Illegal Eatery After Residents Raise Safety Concerns
Pune, October 29, 2025: Kondhwa Police have taken swift action against an illegal eatery in the Sahyadri Park area in Kondhwa after residents raised strong objections over late-night nuisance and safety concerns.
The move comes following repeated complaints from locals about the unlawful outlet operating well past midnight and disturbing the peace of the neighbourhood.
Residents alleged that the eatery, which initially served Chinese cuisine and now runs as a tandoor outlet, had been functioning without the necessary trade or health licenses. The establishment reportedly attracted unruly crowds, leading to incidents of loud music, alcohol consumption, and disorderly conduct near residential premises.
Social activist Jaymala Dhankikar lauded the police for their prompt response, stating that it was the joint responsibility of civic bodies and law enforcement to prevent such illegal activities. “The action taken by Kondhwa Police has restored residents’ faith that their safety is being prioritised,” she said.
Kondhwa Police Station’s Senior Inspector Kumar Ghadge assured residents that their concerns would continue to receive top priority. “Citizens’ safety is our biggest commitment. We encourage residents to approach us with any issues affecting their peace and security,” he stated.
Residents have also urged the authorities to ensure permanent closure of the illegal eatery and to increase patrolling in the area to prevent similar violations in the future.
