Pune: Maha Govt Approves Name Change of Dattawadi Police Station to Parvati Police Station

Pune: The state government has approved changing the names of Dattawadi police station to Parvati police station.
As per information, in a letter addressed to the Commissioner of Police, Pune, a name change was requested to stop the confusion between the existing Dattawadi Police Chowki & Dattawadi Police Station. Hence, the state government changed the name of Dattawadi police station to Parvati police station.    Â
The letter further said ‘In accordance with the statement received regarding the confusion among the citizens due to the similarity of names of Dattawadi Police Chowki and Dattawadi Police Station existing under the jurisdiction of the Commissioner of Police, Pune City. Pursuant to the said request and considering the historical and cultural importance of the mountain hill in this area, the government of Maharashtra is giving the approval to change the name of Dattawadi Police Station to Parvati Police Station on the establishment of Commissioner of Police, Pune City.’
