Pune: Man attacks girlfriend, later hangs himself in a lodge in Pimpri
A disturbing event took place on Thursday, October 10, at around 4 pm in a lodge in Pimpri. A young man assaulted his girlfriend with a knife before taking his own life by hanging.
The motive for the attack is still unknown. The suspect, from Yerwada, had checked into a hotel room with his 28-year-old girlfriend that afternoon.
As per police reports, suspect and his girlfriend arrived at the lodge and booked a room after presenting their Aadhaar cards. Soon after, hotel staff heard the woman screaming and hurried to their room.
When the staff asked the couple to open the door, there was no reply. They quickly alerted the police, who arrived at the scene.
The police requested Suspect to open the door, stating, “We are the police; please open the door.” Suspect responded, “Wait five minutes; I will open the door.”
However, when there was still no response, the police forced their way in and discovered suspect hanging from the ceiling fan, while the woman was found lying in a pool of blood.
The police immediately took the woman to the hospital, and investigations are ongoing to understand why suspect attacked her and subsequently took his own life.
A case was being filed at the Pimpri Police Station late that night.
