Khadki, Pune – In a city often bustling with traffic and stress, one autorickshaw stands out—not for its speed or fare, but for the forest-like calm it carries within. Parked outside MM Restaurant in Khadki today, a sight caught the attention of passersby: an autorickshaw teeming with greenery. This mobile garden belongs to Shriram Anwakar, an auto driver who has been quietly cultivating hope on wheels for the past six years.

Shriram’s auto is no ordinary vehicle. Inside, it’s adorned with money plants, tulsi, snake plants, and other air-purifying greens. Each plant is carefully chosen and lovingly maintained, not just for aesthetic appeal, but with a heartfelt purpose.

“Passengers should feel fresh and positive,” Shriram shared, his gentle tone reflecting the serenity of his vehicle. “If they’re having negative thoughts, maybe these plants will help lighten their mood.”

His initiative goes beyond decoration. In a world increasingly aware of mental health and environmental sustainability, Shriram’s auto represents both. With every ride, he not only ferries passengers to their destinations but also offers a small sanctuary of calm amidst the city’s chaos.

Locals and regular passengers have begun to affectionately refer to him as the “Green Auto-Wallah with a Heart of Gold.” His work reminds us that positive change doesn’t always require grand gestures—it can begin in the smallest of spaces, even within the frame of an autorickshaw.

Through his living, breathing vehicle, Shriram Anwakar delivers more than transport—he delivers joy, inspiration, and a breath of fresh air.
