Pune – In a grim discovery, local authorities are investigating the death of an unidentified man whose body was found in a cardboard box among roadside garbage near Visarjan Ghat in Hingne Mana. The incident, which occurred on Friday, has left the community in shock.
The body, believed to belong to a man around 30 years old, was discovered by a rag-picker during his routine work around 3 PM. Senior Police Officials from Hadapsar Police Station confirmed the details, stating, “The body was tied with wire and packed in a box. It appears the box was discarded along the roadside.”
Initial reports indicate there were no visible injuries on the body, and authorities are working to determine the man’s identity. Investigators believe the body may have been transported using a two-wheeler, given the narrow road near the canal where it was found.
The body has been sent to Sassoon General Hospital for a postmortem examination. “We are awaiting the postmortem report before filing a First Information Report (FIR). Our investigation is ongoing, and we are hopeful of apprehending the person responsible soon,” added Police Officials.
