Pune Metro coach reaches Mumbai

Order for 34 Coach Pune Metro Train is placed with Titagarh Firema Company, wherein each train shall have three coaches. Titagarh Firema shall make 102 coaches for Pune Metro.

As per the contract, first few trains will be made at the company’s Italy workshop while rest of them at the Kolkata workshop. The first train reached Mumbai port yesterday, consisting of three coaches. After conducting trials it will reach Pune shortly.

These coaches are made of aluminium and are light in weight which will help in saving electricity. These are low on maintenance too. One coach is 29 meters in length and 11.30 meters in height

Each coach shall have a seating capacity of 320, while three coaches can accomodate 970 passengers. Each coach shall have 44 passengers. The speed of the coach would be 90 kmph. Our of three coaches, one coach would restricted only for women. The manufacturing of other two coaches is on Italy’s workshop and shall reach Mumbai soon.

Brijesh Dixit, managing director, MahaMetro said, “These are made of aluminium and are light in weight. They will help us in saving energy.”
