Pune: Progress on the Pune Metro project, which aims to connect the IT hub of Hinjewadi with the central hub of Shivaji Nagar, is currently advancing at a rapid pace.

As per the information provided, the construction of pillars along this route is now in its final stages, with 715 out of a total of 923 pillars, or 80% work on pillars completed.

On Thursday, the 715th pillar of the metro was erected near Krishi Mahavidyalaya Chowk on Ganeshkhind Road. It is noteworthy that the milestone of constructing 700 pillars has been achieved in just 17 months since the first pillar was cast on Ganeshkhind Road in April last year.

The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has undertaken the work of Pune Metro Line 3 on the Hinjewadi-Shivaji Nagar route through a public-private partnership. To this end, a company called Pune IT City Metro Rail Limited has been established.

In addition to the construction of pillars, the work of pile caps for Pune Metro Line 3 has also reached its final stage, with 810 out of 923 pile caps having been completed.
