Pune Weather Update : IMD predicts rainfall until Sept 18 in the state

Pune: Certain regions of the state have experienced heavy rainfall, while other areas are still awaiting precipitation. The Meteorological Department has forecasted an increase in the intensity of rainfall in numerous regions.

As per the information provided, over the past 24 hours, Vidarbha has recorded light rainfall, as a low-pressure area formed in the Bay of Bengal moves towards Odisha. The IMD has predicted a return of rain in the state from Friday, which will continue for three days until September 18.

According to Anupam Kashyapi, Head, Weather Forecasting Division, IMD, informed heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in the districts of Gadchiroli, Chandrapur, Bhandara, and Gondia on Friday. All districts, except Thane, Nashik, Sangli, Solapur, Osmanabad, and Latur, have been issued yellow alerts.

He further tweeted, ‘The commencement of Ganeshotsav is scheduled for September 19th, and in anticipation of this event, a specialized weather forecast shall be provided from September 15 to September 28. Based on this forecast, it is possible to partake in the festivities if the program is arranged accordingly. The link to access this special festive forecast is imdpune.gov.in.’
