Pune Metro Sets New Record with Weekend Ridership Soaring to 96,498 Passengers

Pune: The Pune Metro is slowly gaining popularity among the Punekars as on Saturday a record 57,652 people rode the metro while on Sunday, it almost doubled with around 96,498 people riding the Metro. As per the information, the data collected is for people who rode from Civil Court Metro Station to Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) & Vanaz to Ramwadi station. 

It is worthy to note that the Pune Mero expanded last week when Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated two corridors of Pune Metro. These sections are from Civil Court Metro Station to Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) & Vanaz to Ramwadi station. Since then, a lot of Punekars have shown a lot of interest in commuting in Metro trains.

As per information shared by Dr Hemant Sonawane, Executive Director of Public Relations And Administration, Pune Metro:

On August 5 (Saturday):

Number of riders from Civil Court Metro Station to PCMC – 24,900

Number of riders from Vanaz to Ramwadi – 37,752

On August 6 (Sunday):

Number of riders from Civil Court Metro Station to PCMC – 44,951

Number of riders from Vanaz to Ramwadi – 51,547

Thus, the cumulative number of Metro riders on Saturday ( August 5) is 57,652 &, just in one day, the number of Metro riders rose swiftly on Sunday (August 6) to 96,498.

Pune Metro has encouraged everyone to keep taking benefit of the Metro service as several other stations will be inaugurated in the coming time.
