Pune Metro submits DPR of extended routes to MahaMetro

Pune: Pune Metro has submitted detailed project report (DPR) after getting the approval of the Standing Committee and General Assembly of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) to MahaMetro for the extended metro routes from Vanaz to Chandni Chowk, Ramwadi to Wagholi and Khadakwasla to Kharadi, Paud Phata to Manikbaug.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Dr Hemant Sonawane, Pune Metro said, “Pune Metro has submitted the DPR of the extended metro routes. Further action will be taken by Maha Metro to get approval of these proposals from the PMC after which it will be forwarded to the State Government and the Central Government for approval.”

As per information shared by Sonawane, a meeting of the Municipal Corporation and Maha Metro officials was held. DPRs of the extended routes have been submitted to Maha Metro along with the amendments. Maha Metro will take action to accept this proposal from the state and central government.

During construction by Maha Metro, rain drains, sewage channels, footpaths, and roads have been damaged. It is expected to be repaired by Maha Metro. But the municipal corporation has done these works in the background of ‘G20’ and monsoon. PMC owes Rs 150 crore from Mahametro, from which the Maha Metro will recover this cost.

Hence, the following will be the distance & proposed costs for the work of extended routes:

·         Vanaz to Chandani Chowk – 1.2 km

·         Ramwadi to Wagholi – 11.63 km

·         Proposed Cost – Rs 3609 Crore

·         Khadakwasla to Kharadi – 25.86 km

·         Paud Phata to Manikbaug – 6.11 km

·         Proposed Cost – Rs 9074 Crore
