Pune : Mischievous Caller Gives False Bomb Threat in Lohegaon

In a peculiar and alarming incident, an unidentified individual contacted the Vimantal police on 2nd July, providing false information about a bomb being placed in Lohegaon. The incident has left authorities perplexed and concerned about the misuse of such serious matters.

Vilas Sonde, Police Inspector at Vimantal Police Station, shared details about the incident, stating, “On 2nd July, we received a call from an individual who claimed that a bomb had been planted in an area of Lohegaon and was set to detonate soon.

In response, we immediately rushed to the reported location. However, upon thorough inspection, we found no sign of any dangerous object, let alone a bomb.”

Upon realizing that the information provided was fraudulent, the police took further action. They contacted the caller and issued a warning, stating that spreading false information could lead to immediate arrest.

Vilas Sonde and the Vimantal Police have strongly urged the public to refrain from spreading fake information and to remain vigilant against such misleading incidents. Such acts not only waste valuable police resources but also cause unnecessary panic and anxiety within the community.

Instances of false bomb threats and hoaxes can have severe consequences, diverting law enforcement’s attention from genuine emergencies and potentially endangering public safety. Authorities continue to emphasize the importance of responsible communication and reporting in order to maintain a secure and peaceful environment for all residents.
