Pune: “If there is no time to settle Lohegaon residents’ grievances, then the civic body should stop collecting taxes from the citizens here and free them from the municipal limits,” said Vadgaon Sheri MLA Sunil Tingre.

He expressed his anger about Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) not paying heed to the issues of improper roads, potholes and water cuts etc in the area which is pending since the last six years.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Sunil Tingre, MLA Vadgaon Sheri, Pune said, “On August 14, Vikas Dhakane, PMC Additional Commissioner came to Lohegaon to inspect the long-pending problems of citizens like improper roads, potholes, water supply etc. For the road work, he has assured to collect funds from the state government and with the concerned PMC department, come up with an effective plan to resolve the road issues soon.”

During the visit, Tingre pointed out that the roads in Lohegaon are in a very bad condition. As a result citizens are facing a huge amount of inconvenience. He said that the condition of the roads are threatening the lives of the motorists. Despite all this, Pune Municipal administration has not woken up and the potholes are still as they were. In addition to road problems, Tingre pointed out that in the last six years, despite being included in the PMC, abundant water cannot be provided.

Tingre, along with PMC Additional Commissioner Vikas Dhakane, visited various places in Lohegaon and made various suggestions regarding development works. During the inspection, Vijay Kulkarni, Chief Engineer of the Road Department, Sanjay Dharav, Rajendra Khandve, Bandu Khandve, Navnath Moze, Ashok Khandve, Ramesh Khandve and several citizens were present.
