Pune MLA Urged To Focus on Water Supply Over Awards, Citizens Warns of Protest
Pune: – Prashant Jagtap, City President of the Sharadchandra Pawar faction of the Nationalist Congress Party, has criticized MLAs for flaunting awards while failing to ensure adequate drinking water supply in their constituencies. He warned that if the water supply issues in Malwadi and Hadapsar are not resolved, a roadblock protest will be staged on the Pune-Solapur highway to hold the administration accountable.
In response to the disrupted water supply at Rajshree Shahu Housing Society in Malwadi, a protest march was organized at the Lashkar Water Supply to draw attention to the issue. Protesters chanted slogans against the administration, demanding immediate action.
The protest saw the participation of a significant number of residents and activists, including Vandana Modak, Rajesh Aarne, Shailendra Belhekar, Shadab Khan, Society Chairman Dinesh Hakke, Ashok Gawhane, Nana Hajari Mulekhar, Poonam Mandle, Nanda Chavan, and Nalini Phadke.
Under Jagtap’s leadership, protesters held discussions with Vilas Morale, the Deputy Engineer of the Army Water Supply. Morale assured that officials would visit the society within two days and take steps to restore the water supply.
