Pune : MSEDCL disconnects electric supply of 11,000 consumers

Pune:In the last 20 days, the electricity supply of 11 thousand customers, who haven’t paid their electricity bills, has been disconnected by Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL) .

Nishikant Raut, PRO, MSEDCL said, “A total of 10 thousand 991 electricity connections have been disconnected from our side in the past 20 days. The exercise of disconnecting electricity connections of electricity holders who haven’t paid their electricity bills happens all the time & it will continue until electricity bills are paid on time.”

As per further information, in Pune Circle, more than 6 lakh electricity consumers have arrears of more than Rs 127 crore towards electricity bills.

There are 29, 98, 886 household consumers in the Pune circle. It includes Pune, Pimpri Chinchwad city, and some talukas of the district.

Exemption on prompt payment of electricity bills:

· 1 percent discount is given on prompt payment of the electricity bill amount within seven days from the date of the electricity bill. The date of prompt payment (prompt payment) is mentioned in the relevant payment.

· Currently, an average of 11 lakh 5 thousand electricity consumers in Pune circle are saving about Rs 2 crore 26 lakh 65 thousand through this discount. It is seen that the number of customers availing the benefit of one percent discount on prompt payment is increasing as it is convenient to pay the electricity bill through ‘online’ at home and safely.
