5 lakh 87 thousand 286 domestic, commercial and industrial electricity consumers in Pune circle still have arrears of Rs 124 crore 77 lakh. Therefore, the power supply of 18 thousand 952 defaulters has been disconnected in the last 20 days. As this campaign is being intensified, Mahavitaran has appealed to pay the outstanding electricity bills immediately.

As per further information from MSEDCL, Mahavitaran’s entire financial base is on the monthly recovery of electricity bills from consumers. Various dues have to be paid every month along with the purchase of electricity from the recovery of electricity bills. Therefore, the recovery of overdue electricity bills has been given a big speed.

All Superintending Engineers, Executive Engineers and other officers, staff are currently ‘on field’ to check power supply disconnection due to arrears and disconnected power connections. Chief Engineer Rajendra Pawar himself is visiting various places in the circle and reviewing the dues recovery from the branch offices.

A total of 2 lakh 54 thousand 911 electricity consumers have arrears of Rs 46 crore 63 lakh in Pune city. In this, domestic 2 lakh 17 thousand 625 customers have Rs 32 crore 32 lakh, commercial 34 thousand 869 customers have Rs 11 crore 64 lakh, industrial 2 thousand 417 customers have Rs 2 lakh 67 thousand. In the last 20 days, electricity supply of 9 thousand 726 arrears was disconnected.

A total of 1 lakh 45 thousand 622 electricity consumers in Pimpri Chinchwad city have arrears of Rs 32 crore 20 lakh. In this, 1 lakh 23 thousand 486 domestic customers have Rs 19 crore 93 lakh, commercial 18 thousand 491 customers have Rs 8 crore 28 lakh, industrial 3 thousand 645 customers have arrears of Rs 3 crore 99 lakh. In the last 20 days, the electricity supply of 4 thousand 539 arrears was disconnected.

Also, in rural areas Ambegaon, Junnar, Maval, Khed, Mulshi, Velhe, Haveli talukas, a total of 1 lakh 86 thousand 753 electricity consumers have outstanding balance of Rs 45 crore 94 lakh. In this, 1 lakh 67 thousand 17 domestic customers have Rs 32 crore 87 lakh, commercial 17 thousand 313 customers have Rs 8 crore 59 lakh, industrial 2 thousand 423 customers have arrears of Rs 4 crore 48 lakh. Power supply of 4 thousand 687 customers has been interrupted. Mahavitaran has appealed to the electricity consumers to pay the arrears promptly and to avoid the drastic action of disconnecting the electricity supply.

In order to facilitate the payment of current and overdue electricity bills to electricity consumers, all the authorized electricity bill payment centers of Mahavitaran in Pune circle will be open during office hours on Saturday (23rd) and Sunday (24th) public holidays. Along with this, ‘online’ facility is available for low-pressure electricity consumers to pay their bills at home through the website www.mahadiscom.in and mobile app.
