Within PMC limits, there are 14.90 lakh taxpayers. As of December 18, 2025, a total of 9.67 lakh taxpayers have contributed ₹2,006.05 crore. Digital and online payments accounted for the largest share, with 6.59 lakh citizens (68.12%) paying ₹1,181.01 crore. Cheques contributed ₹595.10 crore from 1.06 lakh taxpayers (11.02%), while cash payments by 2.01 lakh taxpayers (20.86%) amounted to ₹229.80 crore.
The PMC also launched the Abhay Scheme (amnesty) on November 15, 2025, offering a 75% rebate on penalties for payments made before January 15, 2026. Under this initiative, 42,413 taxpayers have already contributed ₹223.26 crore in property taxes.
Deputy Commissioner Ravi Pawar, Head of Tax Assessment and Collection, urged citizens to adopt online payment methods to avoid long queues at Citizen Facilitation Centers (CFCs). All CFCs will remain open daily, including holidays, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM to ensure smooth and timely processing of payments.
Pawar highlighted the efficiency and convenience of digital payments and encouraged residents to leverage this facility to meet their tax obligations.
The PMC’s emphasis on digital transactions, coupled with schemes like Abhay, has not only streamlined revenue collection but also reinforced the corporation’s commitment to citizen-friendly and transparent governance.
