Pune: New 33 kV Power Lines To Boost Supply Of 12 Villages In Khed Taluka
On Wednesday, August 14, MLA Dilip Mohite Patil inaugurated two new 33 kV power lines in Kanhersar, aimed at enhancing electricity supply to 12 villages in the Khed Taluka area. The ceremony was attended by Pune Division Chief Engineer Rajendra Pawar. The newly activated power lines, extending from the Kanhersar 220/33 kV high-voltage substation, are expected to improve the quality and reliability of power supply for local residents. The villages benefiting from this upgrade include Kanhersar, Dapwadi, Nimgaon, Chinchoshi, Gulani, Wakhalwadi, Zarewadi, Jaukle Budruk, Gosashi, Vafgaon, Varude, and Gadkawadi, which collectively serve 11,206 customers.
Previously, these areas relied on power from 132/33/22 kV substations located about 40 kilometers away. This distance often led to interruptions due to natural and other factors. The new infrastructure addresses these issues by reducing the distance and enhancing the reliability of power supply, particularly for 3,792 agricultural, 6,919 domestic, 418 commercial, and 240 industrial customers.
At the inauguration, MLA Patil praised the efforts of Mahavitaran in ensuring a more dependable power supply, acknowledging the growing electricity demand in Khed Taluka as a sign of progress. He urged MSEDCL to continue its proactive approach in meeting consumer needs. Chief Engineer Pawar highlighted that the reduced distance of power lines would minimize technical faults and ensure alternative power arrangements during disruptions.
