Pune News : 90 vegetable stalls gutted in fire at vegetable market on Hadapsar – Handewadi road
Pune: A fire broke out in the vegetable market located in Chintamani Nagar area in Hadapsar at around 1:44 am on February 21. The incident took place at midnight and as soon as the information reached the fire brigade, three fire tenders were sent from Kale borate Nagar Fire Station, Hadapsar, and Kondhwa Budruk.
Upon reaching the spot, the firefighters found that the vegetable market was engulfed in flames. They immediately started spraying water from all sides to control the fire and prevent any casualties. Firefighters worked hard and efficiently to get the fire under control within 25 minutes.
Unfortunately, almost 90 small stalls selling vegetables were damaged to a great extent and two tempos were burnt in the fire. The cause of the fire could not be ascertained and an investigation into the matter has been initiated.
Fire Officer Pramod Sonawane, along with Tandel Vilas Dadas and jawans Animish Kondgekar, Chandrakant Navale, Baba Chavan, Dashrath Malvadkar, Vishal Yadav, and Prakash Shelar participated in this performance. Their quick response and timely action prevented the fire from causing any harm to the people and brought the situation under control.
