Pune News : AAP Pune takes objection on auction of 12 amenity spaces called by PMRDA

Pune : The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has raised objection to the auction process of 12 amenity spaces organised by Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA). The spaces will be given to developers for the long lease of 80 years.

According to AAP, as the development plan for the region has not yet been approved, PMRDA  has no authority to call an auction of the amenity spaces which are  reserved for the citizens.

Mukund Kirdat, district head of the AAP said, one and half years ago there was an attempt to auction amenity spaces and open areas in the Pune Municipal Corporation area, which was opposed by the Aam Aadmi Party and failed. Now the BJP led government is doing the same thing with amenity spaces in the PMRDA region.’’

According to PMRDA officials, these 12 spaces are located in the Mulshi, Taluka, including  Hinjewadi, Bhugaon,Kasar Amboli,Man, Pirangut areas, with a total value of around 35 crores,PMRDA hopes to generate around 50 crores of revenue from these auction process.

PMRDA Commissioner Rahul Mahiwal,said “The auction of 12 spaces had nothing to do with DP, it is not reserved for any purpose in DP. It is a very routine process.Periodically we do auction process of plots to generate income. We are not doing action on any plot which is reserved for public purposes.’’
