Pune News : Alphonso mangoes arrive at market yard ; first box sells at Rs 21,000

Pune: The inaugural shipment of Devgad Hapus (Alphonso) mangoes (also known as Alphonso Mangoes) reached Shree Chhatrapati Shivaji Market Yard in Agriculture Produce Marketing Committee on Sunday, November 26.

As per the information provided, the Devgad mangoes, grown in Razzad Kachi’s orchard, were transported to Pune via Mumbai. The initial box, comprising 60 mangoes, was sold for Rs 21,000. The following boxes were sold at varying prices, ranging from Rs 15,000 to Rs 11,000 per box.

As per the information received, Jyotiram Birajdar and Jagannath Vanjari from Kothrud were the purchasers who made the initial purchase. Yuvraj Kachi, the mango dealer, mentioned that the Devgad Hapus season will begin in stages, with the regular season anticipated to commence in February.
