A 58-year-old retired bank official and BJP worker lost his gold chain worth Rs 1.20 lakh during Chandrakant Patil’s nomination rally in Kothrud on Thursday.
The victim, a resident of Ganj Peth, was standing under the Paud Phata flyover when the chain was snatched amidst a sea of party workers.
“I was caught off guard,” the complainant told the media. “I felt someone tug at my chain, but due to the crowd, I couldn’t see who it was.”
The incident occurred around 12:30 pm, when the rally was passing under the flyover. The victim and his 60-year-old doctor friend searched for the chain but couldn’t find it.
