Pune News : Cyber fraudster dupes Union Bank of India
PUNE: A cyber fraudster duped Union Bank of India Shivajinagar branch by asking them to make payment transfer of Rs 22.92 lakh by using fake e-mail id of the AutoMobile firm.
Shivajinagar Police have registered a case as per the complaint filed by the Avnikant Niranjan Samnatray bank manager. Police said the accused pretending to be Vivek Sawant director of the Sky Moto AutoMobile Pvt Ltd Company created a fake email id of the auto company and sent mail on fake company letterhead requesting to make payment of Rs 22.92 lakh in three different bank accounts by attaching authority signature of the company.
The incident was reported on 4 January 2023 and after the internal enquiry a police case was registered at Shivajinagar police station on 3 November.
Senior Police Inspector Arvind Mane said, “Yes case has been registered at Shivajinagar police station under sessions of 419,420,465,468 and investigation is underway.”
