In a resolute demonstration of their opposition, Punawale residents organized a bike rally on the 5th of November, Sunday, at 10 am, rallying against the proposed garbage depot slated in their area. Commencing from the 18 Latitude Mall in Punawale, participants donned black attire to symbolize their strong disapproval of the project.

Mayur Patil, a committee member of “Me Punawalekar,” expressed his concerns about the impending garbage depot while speaking with Pune Pulse. The rally served as a powerful expression of their opposition to the proposed facility, which, they fear, could cause significant inconvenience to the local community and pose potential health hazards to the more than 1 lakh citizens currently residing in Punawale.

In a united front, society residents and Punawale village residents have come together under the banner of “Me Punawalekar” to voice their objections to the garbage depot’s presence in their vicinity.
