Pimpri, November 11, 2023 – The serene waters of the Pavana river near Kejudevi Dam, Thergaon, have been marred by the emergence of white foam and an unpleasant odor.

Recent investigations conducted by the Environment and Drainage Department in the Tathawade area revealed that the 24 Clean drycleaners company (Ms. Cleanfab Services L.L.P.) was illegally discharging chemical-laden wastewater into the municipal drainage system without the required license.

The discharged chemical water, characterized by its dark bluish color and foamy consistency, is believed to be the cause of the pollution.

In response to these findings, legal action has been initiated against the owner of the drycleaning company at the Wakad police station. The enforcement was carried out by officials from the water drainage and environment department, along with health inspectors Amol Gorkhe and Gorakshnath Karpe, as well as junior engineers Sandeep Padvi and Sachin Magar.

Authorities have emphasized that such actions will persist, and stringent measures will be taken against those found guilty of polluting the river.

Citizens are urged to promptly report any instances of environmental pollution to the Municipal Corporation for immediate intervention.
