Pune News: Ex MLA Sunil Tingre Demands Immediate Removal Of BRTS Track, Warns Of Public Protest

Pune News: Ajit Pawar Orders Immediate BRT Removal on Nagar Road, Approves Flyover Extension to Viman Nagar
Pune’s Nagar Road continues to face severe traffic congestion and frequent accidents due to an incomplete Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) route, prompting repeated demands for its removal. NCP leader Sunil Tingre has been actively pushing for the BRT’s elimination, raising the issue in the state legislature. Following Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar’s directive, the BRT stretch from Yerwada to Somnath Nagar Chowk was successfully removed. However, the remaining section from Somnath Nagar to Kharadi still exists, leading to recurring accidents.
On Monday night, a tanker crashed into the BRT lane, creating a massive traffic jam and causing inconvenience to commuters from Chandannagar, Kharadi, and Vadgaon Sheri. Tingre reiterated NCP’s demand to dismantle the remaining hazardous stretch at the earliest to prevent further mishaps and disruptions. He warned that if the issue is not addressed, a public agitation will be launched against the municipal and police authorities.
