Pune News: FDA Files Complaint Against Pharmacies For Alleged Fake Medicine Distribution
Pune: The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has lodged a complaint with the Wanowrie Police, accusing several individuals of distributing non-existent stock of anaesthesia medicine tonics to pharmacies in an alleged scheme to defraud the government. The case was filed on September 11 by FDA drug inspector Razia Shaikh. Those named in the complaint include Pradeep Mangde of Laxmi Agencies, Wanowrie; Suraj Singh, public representative for Frederic Health Care LLP, New Delhi; Ashlesha Changdeo Kadam, owner of Jagatguru Pharma, Lohegaon; and the proprietor of MS Wellness Care Medico, Kondhwa.
The accused are charged under multiple sections of the BNS Act for distributing fabricated stock of anaesthesia tonics in 241 bottles of 100 ml each. According to the complaint, fake bills were generated for pharmacies that had not purchased the tonics, thus engaging in fraudulent business practices. The alleged actions have led to financial harm to the government.
As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the case, and investigations are ongoing.
