Pune News : Four-lane expansion work on Dive Ghat to Hadapsar NH 965 sanctioned

Pune: The proposal for four-lane expansion work on National Highways (NH) 965, from Dive Ghat to Hadapsar, has received official approval from the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH) with an investment of Rs 792.39 crore. The project is approved on a hybrid annuity mode.

As per further information from the X handle of Union Minister of Road Transport & Highways Nitin Gadkari, “Four-lane expansion of the existing 13.25 km stretch of National Highway 965 from Dive Ghat to Hadapsar (Package-6) in Mohol-Alandi section of Maharashtra has been sanctioned on hybrid annuity mode with funds of Rs 792.39 crore.”

The tweet further adds, “After expansion, the four-lane road will reduce the traffic problem in Hadapsar and Dive Ghat. Also, more than 10 lakh Warkaris pass through this route during Ashadhi Wari. Hence, during such times, the 4-lane expansion will help to ease the traffic problems.”

NCP MP Supriya Sule also took to Twitter, “We are pleased to inform you that the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH) has sanctioned a fund of Rs 792.39 crore for four-lane 13.25 km stretch of National Highway No. 965 from Hadapsar to Dive Ghat. After the completion of this work, the problem of traffic congestion on the Hadapsar – Dive Ghat route will be solved to a large extent. Also, the palkhi of Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj passes through this route. Hence, after expansion, the Palkhi ceremony will face no congestion.”
