Pune News: Illegal Gas Refilling Racket Busted In Market Yard; One Arrested
Pune, February 12, 2025 – Acting on a tip-off, officials from the Market Yard Police Station raided Dawal Enterprises in Ambedkar Nagar’s Lane No. 4, where illegal and unsafe gas refilling activities were being carried out. Authorities discovered household gas cylinders being unlawfully refilled into smaller cylinders without safety measures.
Upon inspection, all equipment used for illegal refilling was seized. A case has been registered under IPC Sections 287 and 288, along with Sections 3 and 7 of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955.
The accused, identified as Bandi Nawaz alias Salim Gulab Sherikar (35), a resident of Ambedkar Nagar, has been taken into custody, informed Manisha Patil, Senior Police Inspector, Market Yard Police Station.
