Pune News : Kalyani nagar residents and TSKN members meet MSEDCL officials over frequent power outages

A meeting was held on Monday, 13 March at the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited office in Kalyani Nagar where the members of Team Swach Kalyani Nagar and residents of Kalyani Nagar apprised the officials regarding the issues faced by the consumers. 

The primary focus of the meeting was to discuss the frequent power outages that have been occurring in Kalyani Nagar. The team from TSKN requested that MSEDCL must provide sustainable solutions to this problem and improve their planning to reduce power outages. The team also requested that MSEDCL schedule outages for planned maintenance and provide prior notice to residents.

In meeting MSEDCL officer SantoshTalpe with the team Nilesh Jadhav (maintenance engineer) shares, “The power cutting in Kalyani Nagar was due to the road digging work being carried out in the area. They assured thjat all unction boxes in dirty condition will be cleaned within one week, mostly on Saturday. The power outage happens due to digging work to lay water pipelines which is damaging the power cables. Also, when the emergency numbers have been shared with the residents where they can call when the power outage happens. Also, the power outage timing will be informed to the conusmers in advance.”  

The residents informed that the meeting was productive held with Santosh Talpe and the team from TSKN exchanged ideas and suggestions. MSEDCL staff and officials assured us that they would take the necessary steps to address the issues raised in the meeting and improve their services for the residents of Kalyani Nagar.

“Residents from Kalyani Nagar are facing issues like frequent power outages and irregular schedule of outages which is uninformed. MSEDCL has provied us with the helpline numbers where citizens can contact them incase of MSEDCL issues. 24/7 helpline number + 91 78757 67376.”, said Rachna Agrawal, Founder Trustee and chairperson of TSKN.

Another resident of the area informed that consumers deserve uninterrupted power supply. “When the MSEDCL  wants to carry out repair and maintenance it is informed to us. In the last ten days we had frequent power cuts. MSEDCL  must find out solutions to our problems,” said Purnima Joshi, member of TSKN.
