Pune: Senior traffic officials held a meeting with Kalyani Nagar residents to discuss concrete and long-lasting solutions regarding traffic issues on Friday.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Vijaykumar Magar, DCP Traffic Division Pune said, “We have reviewed the traffic condition in Kalyani Nagar. We have assured the residents to make the provision for only one-sided parking for smooth flow of the traffic and will take strict action against people parking their vehicles in no parking zones. Additionally, we also interacted with various restaurants & food outlet owners about parking only in the designated parking space. Now, the residents do not have to worry about anything regarding traffic issues.”

As per information from Rachna Agarwal, Resident, and Team Swachh Kalyani Nagar, some of the common issues faced by the residents were illegal rickshaw stands, commercial parking spaces etc. DCP Magar went to the nearby restaurants and commercial complexes like Irani Cafe, Flour Works, 3rd Wave, Elephant n Co, Happa, Pergola, and Silver Oak Society among others & instructed them to keep the parking space within the limits allotted otherwise strict action would be taken immediately.

Magar also assured appropriate action against trucks and school buses that are parked outside D Mart. He was also briefed about the parking near multiple small kiosks next to the playground plot as people park here despite it being a no-parking zone. In order to solve this, DCP Magar assured that four more traffic wardens will be there every day at the main junctions within Kalyani Nagar, and rickshaw stands will be removed. Overall, the residents of Kalyani Nagar are satisfied with all the concrete steps assured by Magar in the meeting.
