Pune: The residents of Vihana Housing Society in Keshav Nagar, Mundhwa are in distress due to the bad condition of the road from Manjari Road to Renuka Mata Mandir for a long time.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Dheeraj Mogle, Resident of Vihana Housing Society, Keshav Nagar, Mundhwa said, ” Due to accumulation of rainwater, the road patch between the Manjari Road To Renuka Mata Mandir road has worsened. There are potholes on the road as well. Sometimes, the water enters the building premises making it difficult for the security guards to sit. People are unwilling to step out of the house due to fear of any untoward accident. We have complained to the Pune Municipal Corporation but it appears that they have neglected the issue.”

Pradeep Unkule, Chairman of Vihana Housing Society, Keshav Nagar, Mundhwa, said ” Despite repeated complaints to builders, Mundhwa Police and Pune Municipal Corporation, there is no improvement. However, it is a humble request that the concerned officers and employees should take immediate action in this matter and make at least a walkable road. Otherwise, all of us will have to come to the streets and protest.”

Mayur Jadhav, Junior Engineer, PMC Road Department, said “Currently, there is no stormwater line on that road. That’s why water is getting accumulated on that street. The PMC has finished the tendering process of that road. Hence, first, we will install a proper stormwater line after which the tarring work of the road will be done & soon the entire stretch will become very good & feasible for all the residents staying there.”

Ranjeet Lonkar, President of Keshav Nagar Welfare Association, Mundhwa said, “Several construction works have been going on in that area for a long time. Hence, due to improper work & ignorance from the PMC, the road condition is worsening. However, we will soon chalk out a permanent solution for this by speaking with the relevant officials.”

Sandeep Lonkar, Secretary, BJP Party, Pune, said “We have chaired a meeting recently with all the relevant officials for improving the road. Everything has been finalized and soon, the road repair work will commence.”
