Pune News : Mass citizens movement against unauthorised hoardings to be held on April 16
In a recent development, the residents of Wanawadi have called for a mass citizens movement on April 16, 2023, from 9 AM to 12 NOON. The reason behind this protest is to raise concerns about the unauthorised hoarding structures that have come up in the area, leading to visual pollution.
The protest will take place on Sunday, 16th April 2023, from 9 am to 12 pm near Flower Valley society gate Wanawadi, Pune-40. Prashant Jagtap, Mayor, Pune (2016-2017), and President, NCP, Pune City, along with Ratnaprabha Jagtap, Ex-Corporator, PMC, Pune Prabhag 25, Corporator, Wanawadi Sopanbaug, have requested the citizens of Wanawadi to join them in large numbers and raise their voices for their basic right to live peacefully.
According to reports, several unauthorised hoardings have come up in the Wanawadi Survey Number 64 (Samvidhan Chowk – Kakade maidan) area, owned by various families from Wanawadi. In addition to this, food carts, vegetable and fruit vendors, and construction debris have been dumped, which might lead to severe flooding in the area.
The protest is aimed at saving Wanawadi from being a marketplace of hoardings and unauthorized activities, which are defaming the area, the residents alleged. The citizens of the area are being urged to participate in the protest and fight against unauthorised hoardings.
