Pune News: Massive Fire Erupts at Prime Square Mall Near Rangla Punjab Restaurant in Pimple Saudagar
Pimple Saudagar: A short circuit in a printer inside A Square Academy at Prime Square Mall, Pimple Saudagar, caused a fire and heavy smoke earlier today, sending fumes upward into Hotel Rangla Punjab located just above the academy. The incident took place on Kunal Icon Road, where poor ventilation between the floors allowed the smoke to spread quickly.
Mayur Kumbhar, an operator with the PCMC Fire Department, said the academy staff tried to control the fire but couldn’t contain it. “There was a short circuit in a printer at A Square Academy where work was ongoing. They attempted to douse it but later alerted us,” he said.
Fire personnel reached the spot promptly and brought the situation under control. Around six to seven people were safely evacuated from the hotel. No injuries or casualties were reported.
A detailed inquiry has begun to understand the exact cause of the electrical fault and evaluate safety protocols within the building. Officials noted that the quick alert by academy staff and timely action by the fire brigade prevented the situation from turning more serious.
