To ensure a safe and healthy experience for devotees during the Ganesh Visarjan procession, the Pune municipal health department and public health department have joined forces to provide immediate medical treatment in case of emergencies.

Medical teams, accompanied by ambulances, will be strategically deployed at two key locations: Deccan Gymkhana and Nutan Marathi Vidyalaya on Laxmi Street, on both Tuesday (17th) and Wednesday (18th). These teams will comprise doctors, medical staff, and nurses, guaranteeing prompt medical attention.

In addition to these locations, emergency medical assistance teams will be stationed at various points along the procession route. These include Belbag Chowk, Tilak Chowk, S.P. College, Puram Chowk, Gokhale Hall, Lakshmi Road, Kumthekar Road, and Kelkar Road. Modern Vikas Sanstha will also provide medical services at Vijay Talkies Chowk on Lakshmi Street.

A fleet of 23 ambulances, operated by Maharashtra Emergency Services Department and Bharat Vikas Group (BVG), will be on standby during the procession. Furthermore, Pune Police Vighnaharta Nyasa will provide medical services to ensure the well-being of devotees.

In a pioneering move, a three-bed intensive care unit has been established at Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganapati Mandir. This facility operates 24/7, with a team of one anesthetist, three medical officers, one medicine maker, and one nurse.

Dr. Nina Borade emphasized that this facility will continue to provide services during the immersion procession.

To ensure a smooth and safe procession, the Health Department has issued guidelines, including:

Noise levels should not exceed 75 decibels.

Maintain a distance of 40-50 feet between teams.

Avoid using laser lights.

No sound detectors near hospitals and old age homes.

Priority to ambulances during the procession.

With these measures in place, devotees can participate in the Ganesh Visarjan procession with confidence, knowing that medical help is readily available.
