Pune News : MNGL pipeline catches fire in Wanowrie

A massive fire erupted on the Maharashtra Natural Gas Limited (MNGL) pipeline located on Salunke Vihar Road in Wanowrie early this morning. The pipeline, situated near Nala Park, caught fire, causing concern among residents and authorities.

Sandeep Jagtap, a social activist from Wanowrie, immediately notified the MNGL representative to shut off the gas supply until the fire is extinguished and necessary precautions are taken before resuming the supply. An MNGL official confirmed to Pune Pulse that a team has been dispatched to the site to control the fire, and further action will be taken accordingly.

Sahil Kedari, Vice President of the OBC Cell in Maharashtra Congress, reported that a vehicle was also damaged in the incident.The Fire and MNGL Team were informed about the incident for further actions

The Pune Fire Brigade Department revealed that the fire was triggered by a gas leak from the MNGL pipeline. Five fire tenders from the Kondhwa Fire Station swiftly arrived at the scene to combat the blaze. The incident caused a temporary halt in traffic, leaving residents and commuters astonished. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined.

Efforts are underway to swiftly extinguish the fire and assess the extent of the damage. Authorities will thoroughly investigate the incident to determine the cause and prevent such incidents in the future.
