Pune News: New Feeder Buses Launched From Yerwada Metro Station To Commerzone IT Park
Pune News: Limited interest in PMPML metro feeder service.
Pune, September 10, 2024 – Pune Metro has teamed up with Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Ltd (PMPML) to launch a new feeder bus service connecting Yerwada Metro Station to Commerzone IT Park. The service, aimed at improving commuter convenience, was inaugurated on Monday, September 10 by PMPML CMD Deepa Mudhol Mundhe, along with key officials like General Manager Captain Dr. Rajendra Saner Patil and Senior DGM Uttamrao Bodakhe.
Prominent figures from Commerzone IT Park, including Shriram Pandit (Complex Head) and Anuj Chaturvedi (VP, Head Leasing), also attended the event, alongside transport officials like Chief Transport Manager Satish Gavhane.
Pune Metro shared the news on social media, stating, “This new feeder bus service will make public transport more accessible and convenient for commuters.”
In addition, the extended metro hours during Ganeshotsav have been a great help for devotees visiting the city’s pandals. With central locations and limited parking, the metro has become a popular choice, increasing daily ridership by 20,000 to a total of 1,50,000 passengers. The metro is now generating around ₹20 lakh per day, and the extended hours will continue until September 18.
