Pune: Residents of Kondhwa, Wanowrie, and mainly from Salunke Vihar have been facing severe inconvenience due to the absence of their regular postman for the past one month from State Reserve Police Force sub -division post office. Despite the absence of the postman, no other staff member has been assigned to look after the delivery of mail, leading to a delay in the delivery of important documents and parcels.

A resident of Salunke Vihar area reported to Pune Pulse that an insurance policy, posted by a private insurance company from Moledina Road, had dispatched the letter via India Post but has not reached to him yet. He said, “The company had dispatched the policy documents 15 days ago but havent reached me yet. Upon enquiring at the post office I was told that the postman delivering mails is on leave and there is no one to take up his work. Many residents complained the same when I went to enquire.”

Upon contacting the postal department authorities in Pune Post office, Nitin Gajodhane, Assistant Officer, confirmed that the post office has two postmen working, and if one is on leave, the other postman is supposed to deliver the mail. However, he assured that they would investigate the matter on why the mails, parcels are not being delivered and resolve the issue.
