Pune News : Bus service from Pimple Saudagar to Pune railway station begins
Residents of Pimple Saudagar often felt that the connectivity of Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) is not enough to cater to the demand. The residents a few weeks ago met the PMPML chairman and managing director Omprakash Bakoria and apprised him of the need to start a bus from Pimple Saudagar to Pune railway station.
Residents Ravi Bhosale, Chetan Kappe and Prashant Dhakane recently met the PMPML CMD and handed over a letter demanding various issues. Finally, the bus service began from February 22, 2023 from Pune Railway station to Pimple Saudagar via Aundh, University chowk and Ma Na Pa (PMC headquarters).
These include starting a bus service from Pimple Saudagar to Hinjewadi Phase 3 for IT employees during morning and evening hours and increasing the number of long-distance buses for Hinjewadi employees in rush hours.
The residents also requested an increase in the number of buses coming from Pune city towards Ravet route during morning and evening hours to support office travelers. And they had also shared pictures of the congested buses to highlight the urgency of the matter.
Furthermore, the residents requested the construction and maintenance of good quality bus stops that can withstand the harsh summer and rainy seasons. They have also raised concerns about the cleanliness of BRTS bus stops and the need for garbage bins. Additionally, they have requested the ownership of bus stops to be clarified to ensure proper maintenance and cleanliness.
The residents have requested the development of a PMPML mobile bus application that will provide real-time tracking of bus status and timings for different routes, online bus pass application, payment, and pass issuance on mobile, as well as the provision of a mobile app to address concerns, grievances, and suggestions.
Prashant Dhakne, a resident of Pimple Saudagar, said, “So the bus service from Pimple Saudagar to Pune station has been started from February 22. Earlier the service was available but had been closed. Adding to it, we are also expecting a bus service from Pimple Saudagar to Hinjewadi as many people work at IT companies in Hinjewadi.”
“Last week the bus service to Kothrud was started from Pimple Saudagar and now from February 22, the bus service to Pune Station has been started. So we are expecting a bus service from Pimple Saudagar to Hinjewadi soon. The initiative was taken to approach the PMPML head to enhance the transport system and reduce the pollution, traffic, and carbon footprint,” said Chetan Kappe, resident of Pimple Saudagar.
Along with the residents former corporator of Pimple Saudagar Shatrughan Kate also took consistent follow up with the authorities to initiate bus services for the benefit of Pimple Saudagar.
