Pune News : Pashan Sus residents raise concern over road closure near highway

The residents of Pashan and Sus have raised their concern against the road closure undertaken by the civic administration. The residents complained to Pune Pulse that the thr turn in front of Audi showroom for service road has been closed for the last two months. This has caused severe inconvenience as motorists have to take a long route. Also, people coming from Hinjawadi need to come through the service road near Kia showroom which is full of traffic throughout the day and the road closure only adds to the problem. These road closures are not only time and fuel but at many places encouraging people to drive on the wrong side leading to accidents.

Amit Kasar, a local resident of Pashan said, “PMC, Pune Traffic Police, and all others who are involved in decision making should have consulted local residents. Since, we have been ignored there are many who are often stuck in the traffic for a long period. I appeal to the PMC and other administrations to resolve the matter and provide relief to the residents.”

Kunal Yadav, a resident of Pashan Sus road, complained that after the new bridge was opened, one and half months later the service roads were closed for traffic. This has resulted in wrong side driving and moreover accidents.   

When Pune Pulse spoke to Police inspector Balasaheb Koli, Chattuhshrungi traffic division, he stated that the decision was taken to avoid any major mishap. I have myself spoken to the PMRDA officials and raised that many complaints regarding the same have been received about this closure. I shall still look into the road closure issues and resolve them.”
